Who is organizing the Warrior Walk?

The IAVPC (Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of Polk County) is a group of Veterans, supporters, friends and family who have joined together to promote patriotism and support our fellow Veterans. Thanks to the support of the Polk County Veteran's Council and the AMVETS Post #32, Lakeland. This event would not be possible without your support!


Where does the walk start?

The walk will start at the First Presbyterian Church located at 175 Lake Hollingsworth Dr. Lakeland, FL 33801. There will be a brief welcoming ceremony beginning at 9am. Kick off will begin at approximately 9:30am.


I do not know a hero that was killed in action during OIF/OEF, can I still walk?

Absolutely!! We welcome you to join us. Any and all veterans, supporters, family members and friends are welcome to walk with us and honor those who never made it home. The first 250 participants who register, will get a free t-shirt with the name of a fallen soldier from Iraq or Afghanistan. Even if you are not a Veteran of Iraq or Afghanistan, but you are a Veteran (or a supporter, family member, friend ...anyone!) please join us! We are honored to have you.


I did not register, can I still participate?

Yes! Wear your red, white and blue and bring the kids! Lake Hollisgsworth is beautiful this time of year, and we would appreciate your participation.


My company or group wou like to sponsor or participate in this event, what do I need to do?

Great! Please contact us via the "Contact Us" page. We welcome your organization. Any monetary donations will be used to purchase items for the event. Want to be listed as a sponsor on the t-shirts or on the website? Contact us! Limited space available.


Do you have a printable flyer I can post in my office?
